Supporting Fairfield Families & Seniors​​​​

• Delivers critical tax relief for families through Child Tax Credit and Earned Income Tax Credit

• Provided grants to local schools to hire more support staff, including social workers, psychologists, and counselors 

• Created new walk-ins for mental health emergencies 

• Expanded 24/7 emergency mental health response 

• Established state oversight and coordination of state response to kids’ mental health needs 

• Initiated new position at the Healthcare Advocate to help families navigate care for children and adolescents

• Provide mental health training to parents, students, and pediatricians

SENIORS

• Eliminates of the income tax on most retirement income for seniors

• Reforms nursing home policies and staffing requirements

• Creation of Home Care Ombudsman

• Increased from asset limit from $12k to $60k that community spouse can retain when their partner requires nursing home care
