It has been an honor representing your interests, advocating for our community, and fighting for what is right for the past six years as your State Representative for the 132nd District. I remain committed to meeting hard issues with humanity, striving to find common ground and unity whenever possible, and to listening. I will keep working to make Connecticut a place where everyone is welcome, where our laws reflect our values, and where government shows up when you need it.
I remain focused on using data to find evidence-based solutions through consensus and collaboration. We have achieved many successes together that reflect our commitment to investing in people and families, ensuring Fairfield and Connecticut remain vibrant and prosperous. Over the past six years, representing Fairfield and Southport, I have remained committed to using data and evidence to guide good public policy. I earned my Master's Degree in Public Policy from the University of Chicago. Following that, I worked as a school administrator to learn first-hand the challenges facing our students, educators, and families. I then became a data and policy analyst for the Connecticut State Department of Education, where we reformed the state's accountability system, and I managed the state's largest data collection.
The day that Donald Trump was elected was the last day of my maternity leave with my second son. As someone professionally trained in using data to develop effective policy, it became clear that we needed more people who care about good policy to be our policy-makers. Since then, I have been working hard to listen to you and do the research to make our state and community a better place for our children, for our economy, and for our environment. I have always said that data serves as a unifying force. It's a way to establish common ground and build consensus. This approach has been my cornerstone in elected office and will continue to be. I hope to continue to earn your trust and your vote on November 3.
